What are our plans?

Our last visit was very successful (again!) The issues we will be working on in the near future, will involve: 1. the 4 acres of land, assigned by Olgulului Group Ranch to BTI Foundation, to built a new school for Olasiti community; 2. the contacts BTI made with Nairobi University and Nazarene University; 3. the participation of BTI in the International Literacy Day (UNESCO) in Loitokitok by invitation of the District Adult & Continuing Education Officer Mr Steven G. Mundia; 4. we will continue with the guidance of the BTI teachers, who get more and more experienced and professional and because of that, are able to educate the children better and better; 5. planting trees and shrubs; 6. economical activities for the communities;

1. 4 acres to build the new school

This is the start of something big! While we're trying to raise funds, we need to consult the community, making designs and drawings and talking to architects.

2. Contacts with the Universities

In cooperation with both Universities BTI Foundation wants to investigate how and in what ways we can work together.

3. Reading & Writing for Maasai Adults

Again at 'own request' of the communities we're going to start with 2 groups of advanced adult students ( who obtained the certificate). Additional teachers needed.

4. Quality of BTI teachers improves and needs to continue!

Quality is improved by attending college three times a year and by guidance and consultation of Mr George Oloibor (Program Officer Early Chilhood Education).

5. Trees and Shrubs, surrounding the school

As a pilot we aim to 'reforest' a small area, surrounding the new school yet to be built. We're negotiating with various organizations from all over the world.

6. Economical activities for the communities

Parents are asking for a. guidelines for- and b. assistance in developing economic activities, so they themselves can pay for the school contributions.

We need your help to support our projects and people in Kenya.
